Patio and pool deck resurfacing, repair or replacement around your pool will make a drastic improvement in the aesthetics, enjoyment and safety for your family and friends while relaxing by the pool.
There are so many choices available today!

Choose the Right Materials

It’s important to pick materials that are not only beautiful but are skid-resistant, heat reflective, and long-lasting.  They must hold up to the various weather cycles that we experience from region to region. Decking materials should keep water from seeping through so that the pool itself is protected from the water around it. Proper rainwater runoff and drainage must be created. Deck drains may need to be installed.

Decking can heave in the winter. It can also settle, buckle and crack under intense pressures from the earth, while others can create more maintenance for you such as weed control through joints, cracks, and crevices.

Travertine, marble and limestone pool decks create a beautiful, warm and inviting atmosphere around pools. When installed correctly they’ll last for many years. Since they’re tumbled, they are slip resistant and easy to care for. Because it’s natural stone the surface will not degrade like a man made paver from acidic rain.

Arctic Grey Travertine is our post popular choice. With matching pool coping it creates a stunning look!

California Gold Travertine is warm and inviting! Matching pool coping available in full bullnose and eased edge for all color selections!

Pool Decking and Patio Costs

Costs associated with deck replacement can be dramatically reduced by choosing a poured concrete pool deck.

Beautifully brushed finished concrete is the most economical and will blend beautifully with the pool and landscape!

Available in finishes that are beautiful and blend with the landscaping, pool coping and tile as well as deck furniture make it a great choice. A finely finished brushed concrete deck is the least expensive and will provide those virtues.

Exposed aggregate is another good pool deck resurfacing choice. While it can be a little tough on your feet over time, it should be considered.

Exposed Aggregate Concrete Deck

You may want to consider a stamped concrete pool deck however, they may not hold up to the standard required for a swimming pool deck  They can be slippery and create more maintenance. In addition, the cost can get close to natural stone. For just a little more you can have the “real” thing.

Also, aesthetically they can compete with the other hardscape surfaces around the pool area including the pool coping which may not enhance the look.

Surprisingly, a poured concrete deck replacement can be quick and inexpensive. In most cases, it’s only a two to three day job and costs less than $10,000. Natural stone pavers laid on four inches of concrete (no weeds) will cost about $20,000., maybe less depending on size.
